Uma Bharti visits Sri Krishna Temple, Performs Pada Puja of Pejawar Swamiji
Udupi: Union Cabinet Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Uma Bharti visited Udupi Sri Krishna Math on the occasion of Guru Poornima on Sunday, July 9.
Uma Bharti visited the temple and made a darshan of Lord Sri Krishna and also met Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math. She also performed the Pada Puja of Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math who gave her Sanysa Deeksha.
It may be recalled that the Pejawar Swamiji had also given the Sadhvi Deeksha to Uma Bharti.
The Swamiji also honoured Uma Bharti during her visit to the temple later she proceeded to visit Pajaka. She will be returning to Udupi in the evening for Guru Poornima Mahotsava.
Speaking to media persons Uma Bharti said, “Today is Guru Poornima Day, I have come here to perform the Pada Puja of my Guru Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji. On November 17, 1992, I had taken Sanyasa Deeksha from the Pejawar Swamiji, I have completed my 25 years of Sanyasa. In 2000 I had met the Swamiji on Guru Poornima Day in Udupi. After 17 years I am meeting the Swamiji again on Guru Poornima day in Udupi. Otherwise, wherever he does the Chathrumasya in Mumbai and other places I go there to meet him. My Guru is a great social reformer and my role model.”
When asked about the construction of Ram Mandir, Uma refused to comment as the Math is not the place to discuss any political issues as it is holy. This place is very holy and no political statements will be given here. If you want any answers to your questions I will be holding a press conference on July 10 at the Circuit House.
