Uniform of Soldier Eknath Shetty to arrive at Home Town
Beltangady: The uniform of Soldier Eknath Shetty will arrive at Guruvayanakere on October 28, Eknath Shetty was missing since the Indian Air Force AN-32 aircraft went missing with 29 onboard on July 22.
On July 22, the Indian Air Force aircraft, which took off from Chennai to Port Blair went missing with 29 soldiers including Eknath Shetty onboard. The search operation continued for the aircraft and the military personnel, but none of the bodies nor any part of the aircraft was traced. The airforce has declared all the military personnel dead.
The uniform of Eknath Shetty has being sent to his home town to be handed over to his family members. Officials will reach Mangaluru Railway station and at around 8:30 am they will reach to Madanthyar. From Madanthyar the uniform will be carried in a procession to Guruvayanakere. A vehicle Jatha has been arranged to take the Soldier’s uniform in a procession.
Eknath Shetty (48), joined the Army in 1985. In 2009 he had retired from the service. Later he has joined the airforce Defence Security Force. After completing his training in Kanpur, he was serving in Goa. Two years ago he was transferred to Port Blair.
