Union Minister Ananth Kumar welcomes 500 plus followers of JP Hegde to BJP

Udupi: Over 500 followers of former MP Jayaprakash Hegde joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Parivarthana Samavesha which was held in Brahmavar on October 16.

The programme began with Vandematharam, Murali Prathap Hegde president of BJP Rural welcomed the gathering. Raghupathi Bhat former MLA Udupi delivered the introductory remarks. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar inaugurated the Parivarthana Samavesha and welcomed more than 500 followers of former MP Jayaprakash Hegde by handing over the Party Flag.

Addressing the gathering minister Ananth Kumar said that the Congress party, in its four years of rule,  led the State emerge Number 1 in corruption. Also, the government has failed to implement the promises made by it on all fronts. Potholes have become a major problem in Bengaluru city. There is no guarantee for life when you ride on the city roads, the government says that they have spent crores of rupees for filling the potholes but we have not seen any changes in the pothole ridden roads. The government is robbing the taxpayers money through corruption.

Ananth  Kumar further said, “Today large number of followers of J P Hegde have joined the BJP and it is a real Privarthana of JP Hedge’s followers. It is a rebirth for Jayaprakash Hegde. The policies of the present NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have struck a chord with the people. Besides, people are angry with the Siddaramaiah government for its maladministration and misgovernance. These factors will prove to be a win-win situation for the BJP in the 2018 Assembly polls”, he added.

Former Deputy chief minister R Ashok said that the Siddaramaiah government has neglected the farmers and the economically backward classes, while looting the exchequer under the guise of Bhagya Schemes. The Congress government also came in for censure for its failure to effectively address the drought situation. Bengaluru city is witnessing flooding whenever it rains.

R Ashok further said, “We were working towards achieving a ‘Congress-mukt’ (Congress- free) Karnataka as per the wishes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will achieve his dream of ‘Congress-mukt Bharat’ after defeating the ruling party in the state in next year’s Assembly polls.  BJP will achieve its “mission of winning 150 (Assembly) seats” in Karnataka in 2018″. He expressed confidence that the BJP will form the government in Karnataka and Yeddyurappa will become the chief minister.

Udupi – Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, Kota Srinivas Poojary, V Sunil Kumar, former MP J P Hegde, former MLA’s K Raghupathi Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon and other BJP leaders were present.
