United Mangaloreans Kuwait holds Muhurat Ceremony of ‘Meet Mirsang’
Kuwait: United Mangaloreans Kuwait (UMK), a group of like-minded people, is all geared up to host the seventh “Fun Filled Evening 2017”, on Friday 10 November 2017 at American International School Auditorium (AIS), Maidan Hawalli, Kuwait at sharp 4.00 P.M. onwards.
The motto of the group is to provide a platform to the local talents and to help the underprivileged back home in Mangalore
During the past eight years, UMK has staged six Fun Filled Evening programmes and contributed over Rupees One Crore to seven various needy institutions in and around Mangalore.
This was possible only due to the overwhelming support from the sponsors and well-wishers who have contributed generously.
This year, UMK will present a variety of cultural programmes and a Konkani social comedy-drama, in aid of (1) Vimukti Belthangady, Karnataka, India (Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra, rehabilitation of most vulnerable mentally challenged and differently able special children), and (2) Mount Rosary Charitable Institutions, Moodbidri, Karnataka, India (Caring the destitute, physically-mentally handicapped, aged and bedridden sick people).
As a part of the Fun Filled Evening 2017, the Muhurat ceremony of “Meet Mirsang” Konkani social comedy-drama, written by Ronald D’Souza, Mulki, was held at a residence hall at Salmiya, Kuwait on Friday 09 June 2017.
The anchor of the evening Shawn Pereira welcomed the gathering.
Advisor Roque Lewis, Founder member and Drama Writer/Director Ronald D’Souza Mulki, Founder member and Ex-Treasurer Nancy Pinto, Founder member Clifford Aranha and the Group Leader/Gurkar of UMK Agnel Saldanha were present on the dais.
The ceremony started with the prayer by Levnis Suares, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the guests present on the dais.
Ronald D’Souza along with the guests on the dais inaugurated the drama script book and spoke few words about the drama.
Nirmala Machado shed light on UMK’s journey through past the eight years, appreciated unity, hard work of all the members, thanked the sponsors for their overwhelming support.
Treasurer Jerald Lobo came up with the appeal and requested all to support and work hard to get maximum financial help to the above two needy organisations.
In his address, Gurkar of UMK Agnel Saldanha expressed his gratitude to all the members for having supported him throughout the years of leadership and requested to work tirelessly for the success of the forthcoming event, to reach the goal of helping the underprivileged. He invited all to participate and be a part of UMK’s worthy cause.
Anil Avil Fernandes wished success to the forthcoming Fun Filled Evening 2017 and also captured the moments of the event in his camera.
Mclean Rodrigues led the oath taking, on behalf of drama artistes.
Refreshment was served to the guests. The evening concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Lucy Aranha.
