Unity run marks Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary in City

Mangaluru: The ‘Run for Unity’ marathon, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party Mangaluru South, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was taken out in the city on Wednesday, October 31.

The ‘Run for Unity’ marathon was flagged off at the Kadri Park and Culminated at Karavali Utsav Ground. The Valedictory ceremony began with Vande Mataram. MLA Vedavyas Kamath welcomed the gathering.

In his message, BJP Prabhari Prathap Simha Nayak said, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s ideology and heritage cannot be forgotten. He has contributed immensely to India’s unity,” Sardar Patel was the biggest inspiration against the dynastic rule as none of his family members are linked to his legacy.

Describing Sardar as the architect of modern India, he said Patel ensured unity of the country which helped it prosper. “Now we should put in our best to maintain it,” he said.

As a mark of the death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the world’s tallest Sardar Patel’s statue or the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Unity has always been the strength. The diversity in a group has a very positive multiplying effect on the strength of unity. This is the fact behind India emerging as a powerful nation for the world, he said.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP leaders Yogish Bhat, Nithin Kumar, Ravishanker Mijar, Ramesh, Premananda Shetty, Roopa D Bangera, youth leader Nandan Malya and others were present.
