Upload Traffic Violators photos on Nammatraffic, WhatsApp and Facebook – SP Bhushan
Mangaluru: In four months of my tenure in Dakshina Kannada district, I have held several peace meetings in various places like Beltangady, Sullia, Uppinangady and Puttur. When I addressed issues on communal harmony, in Uppinangady, one person said that the police always talk about communal harmony but we have severe traffic problems and the police have failed to address the issue. Keeping in mind issues related to Traffic and safety we have implemented “Nammatraffic”, said the SP of DK Bhushan Borase in a press meet held at his office here on October 3.
Addressing the mediapersons Borase said that the “Nammatraffic” will be a new medium between the police – media and public. If anyone finds someone violating the traffic rules, such as disrupting the vehicular movement, parking on no parking zone etc, Photographs of such vehicles along with the place of violation should be sent through WhatsApp or facebook. The WhatsApp number 9480805300 or Facebook “Nammatraffic”.
The information about the sender will be kept confidential. The WhatsApp message will directly be sent to the police control room and the concern police stations will be informed. The police will take action against such vehicles and penalize the owner. The information about the penalty and the vehicles will be published ondkpolice.blogspot.in
This system will be in force in Bantwal, Beltangady, Puttur and Sullia taluk police station limits.
I appreciate the measures taken by the police in this regard. But if they implement this, then we will have another problem of Mobile usage while driving. Which will eventually cause more problems.
