Vanessa Lachey to star in ‘The First Wives Club’ TV remake
Los Angeles, July 1 (IANS) Actress Vanessa Lachey has been cast as the third lead in a TV remake of “The First Wives Club”, joining Alyson Hannigan and Megan Hilty
The potential series, currently in the pilot phase, is a television reboot of the 1996 film that starred Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton, reports variety.com.
TV Land’s “The First Wives Club” will take place in modern-day San Francisco. Like the original rom-com, the story revolves around three women (Lachey, Hannigan, Hilty) who were friends and classmates in the 1990s and reconnect after their close friend from college dies in a freak accident.
Lachey will play Sasha, a driven and successful chef in San Francisco. She has it all — a hot restaurant and a great girlfriend who she plans to marry. But when she reconnects with her old friends after the death of their college roommate, she realises she may not be as ready to settle down as she thought.
