Vegetable vendor’s son is BJP candidate in UP bypoll
Mau (Uttar Pradesh): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Ghosi Assembly seat bypoll stands out in a crowd.
The candidate, Vijay Rajbhar, is the son of a vegetable vendor.
“The organisation has given me a huge responsibility. My father sells vegetables on the footpath near Munshi Pura. I will try my best to fulfil the expectations,” an excited Vijay Rajbhar told reporters after his name was announced by the party.
Vijay has served as city president of the party and it was his hard work that has earned him this reward. He had earlier successfully contested the corporator election.
Nand Lal Rajbhar, Vijay’s father, who continues to sell vegetables, said, “My son’s hard work has paid off and it does feel good. I sell vegetables and will continue to do so. The party has given him a ticket after considering his capability.”
Vijay will be contesting the Ghosi Assembly seat that goes to polls on October 21.
The Ghosi seat was earlier held by Phagu Chauhan who has now been appointed Governor of Bihar.
