Vehicle Batteries Theft Case, Two held near Kankanady Market
Mangaluru: The Kadri Police have arrested two persons in connection with vehicle Battery theft case, near Kankanady Market here on December 1.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Asif (23) from Kukkaje Bantwal and Habeeb Rahman (35), a resident of Ammunje, Bantwal.
According to police, Mohammed Asif and Habeeb were involved in theft cases of generator and vehicle batteries in various places. On December 1, on getting information from reliable sources, the Kadri police led by Inspector Maruti Nayak arrested both Asif and Habeeb near Kankanady Market.
The Police have recovered 13 batteries worth Rs 30,000 and a TVS Jupiter Scooter worth Rs 40,000 which was used for the crime, from their possession .
Asif and Habeeb were produced before the court and were remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
The operation was carried out under the able leadership of Inspector of Kadri Police station Maruti Nayak, PSI Shankar Nayari, Venkatesh, Sukumar Shetty, Ravi and Ajith.
