Kundapur: Muhammed Shahif (25) of Honnavar Uttar Kannada origin died in a road mishap that took place on NH 66 at Navunda in the taluk on Tuesday morning.
As he was riding his bike towards Byndoor, a Tata Ace vehicle suddenly joined the national highway from the road leading to a college in Navunda and knocked him down.
Thrown to the road, he was critically injured. He is said to have died while being taken to a nearby hospital.
He ran a small shop near Arehole. His father Abdul Wahid hailed from Honnavar but they have been living near the Navunda mosque for some years.
He is survived by parents and brothers.
