Vehicle Movement Banned on Balebare Ghat with Immediate Effect

Udupi: The Udupi district administration has banned the movement of heavy vehicles on the Balebare Ghat on State Highway 52 connecting Udupi with Shivamogga with immediate effect. The ban would remain in force till it is revoked.

In a press release issued here on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that the movement of heavy vehicles would damage the road and bridges on the Balebare Ghat road.

Hence, all heavy vehicles including bullet tankers, fish cargo containers, long chassis vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, multi-axle trucks, truck trailers have been banned from using this Balebare Ghat road with effect from Tuesday. This order will be in force till it is revoked by the district administration, the release said.
