Venugopal did not Fire me during Mane Manege Congress – MLA Bava
Mangaluru: On November 6, a Mane Manege Congress programme was held at Kavoor junction which comes under my constituency. The AICC In-charge Venugopal flagged off the campaign. During the Mane Manege visit, Venugopal asked a family whether the Congress party workers had visited their house. One woman said that she was not at home and she did not know whether the Congress party workers had visited her house. She also submitted a memorandum to Venugopal requesting him to provide her with a house as she is residing in a rented house. Venugopal never fired me, it’s a false rumour” said the MLA of Mangaluru north constituency Moideen Bava in a press meet held at his office here on November 8.
Addressing the mediapersons, Moideen Bava said, “After receiving the memorandum Venugopal instructed us to provide her with a house under the housing scheme. Some of the media have highlighted that Venugopal had taken Moideen Bava to task. A Kannada evening paper has mentioned that Moideen Bava had taken back the CM relief fund cheque which was given to a woman, which is far from the truth. The cheque comes in the name of the beneficiary and I cannot withdraw the amount. Why is the media publishing misleading news?” he questioned.
Moideen Bava further said, “In the Mane Manege Congress campaign all the Congress leaders had participated with enthusiasm. We have taken all the measures to identify people who do not have houses. Even for people who are in need of medical assistance, financial help will be given from the CM’s relief fund and the amount will be directly credited to their account. People should not give heed to the false rumours.”
