VHP, BD and Durgavahini to Hold awareness campaign against Love Jihad
Mangaluru: “The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal will organize an awareness campaign against Love Jihad”, said the working president of VHP Prof M B Puranik in a press meet held at the VHP office, Kadri here on January 2.
Addressing the mediapersons Prof M B Puranik said, “In Karnataka especially in Dakshina Kannada, Kasargod, and Udupi Hindu girls are the victims of Love Jihad. Muslim youth are converting Hindu girls in the name of love jihad. This is a conspiracy to destroy the Hindu Religion. To create awareness among the Hindu Society the VHP, Bajrang Dal and Durgavahini will start an awareness campaign from January 3. The campaign will last for 15 days”.
M B Puranik further said, “The awareness campaign will start from Shree Laxminarayan Temple near PVS. We will distribute handbills in all the colleges and also to the working women, our activists will visit every house and distribute handbills. Through the units of VHP, Bajrang Dal and Durgavahini programmes will be organized to bring awareness among the people about Love Jihad in every ward and the Gram Panchayat level”.
Prof Puranik also said, “A committee including members and leaders of various Hindu organizations will be formed. The committee will organize meetings every month in their respective wards to create awareness among the people against love Jihad. They will also try to prevent girls from falling prey to Love Jihad. Since many years a number of girls in the state have become victims of Love Jihad which has created unrest in the society. Many parents are suffering because of their children who are victims of Love Jihad. We urge the police department to take stern action against those who indulge in Love Jihad. Parents should also join hands with the VHP, BD and Durgavahini to eliminate Love Jihad.”
Convener of Bajrang Dal Sharan Pumpwell, Gopal Kuthar, Bhujang Kulal and Surekha Raj were also present.
