VHP Holds ‘Janagraha’ to Issue Ordinance to Construct Ram Mandir in Ayodhya
Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad organized a Public Referendum (Janagraha) at the Nehru Maidan here on November 25.
The main aim of the Janagraha is to put the pressure on the Central Government to pass an ordinance to construct Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
The programme began with an invocation. District President of VHP Jagadish Shenava welcomed the gathering.
Addressing the gathering, Udupi Pejawar math’s Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji said that the Narendra Modi should have the courage to pass an ordinance to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya within a year. The government should pass a law to make way for the construction of the Ram Temple.
The Swamiji further said, “If the Ram Temple is constructed then we are ready to negotiate outside the court. This fight is final because the Temple has not been built in the last four and a half years. This is the final battle for the construction of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The government should bring an ordinance for the construction of the Temple and this should be done by the end of this year”.
He also appealed to the Supreme Court to announce the verdict immediately. The public opinion should be considered, he said.
Asserting that the central government needed to act, the Swamiji said that the central government should not wait for the Supreme Court’s verdict.
“The Modi government has complete majority unlike the Vajpayee government. The opposition Congress will not oppose the move to build the Ram Mandir as the Lok Sabha elections are approaching. There is a positive situation for the construction of Ram Mandir,” he said.
He expressed dissatisfaction over BJP led NDA government as it was unable to take a quick decision.
“Ram Mandir should not be limited for political purpose. The saints are least interested in the elections, they are only interested in the construction of the Temple,” he added.
The Swamiji said that the people of the country and the Saints wanted the construction of the Temple. Even the Muslims were not opposed to it. “I am sure that Mr. Modi will take a determined step on the issue and the Ram Temple will be built soon,” he said.
Prior to the Public meeting, the Hindu association activists took out a Rally from the Ambedkar Circle to Nehru Maidan. A large Number of VHP, BD, Durgavahini and other activists participated in the Rally.
