VHP launches massive Bajrang Dal membership drive from Feb 1 to 18 – Vilas Nayak
Udupi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has launched a massive campaign to strengthen its youth wing, Bajrang Dal, by launching a membership drive from February 1 to 18 said Vilas Nayak District president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
He was speaking at a press meet held at the press club on Saturday, February 3. At present, there are around 85 lakhs Bajrang Dal active members in the country enrolled in last year. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has decided to increase the target to 3 lakhs in Karnataka. There are 10000 BD members in Udupi district and we have set the target to increase it to 40 thousand.
He said that the membership drive is usually launched every five years. The drive has started from February 1 across the country and the state. In the Udupi district, the drive will be launched from February 4 at every village level.
The organisation also plans for a mass membership campaign on February 12. On that day the members of VHP and BD will be visiting the houses of every Hindus and create awareness on joining the Bajrang Dal.
The Toll-free number 9845044955 will also be launched and people will be asked to give a miss call and send the details of the candidate. Soon after they will get their membership number and other details through SMS, he said.
