VHP Not Ready to Bargain Building Ram Mandir at Disputed Site – Champatrai

Udupi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international secretary general Champatrai said that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad is not ready for any bargaining in building the Ram Mandir at the disputed site in Ayodhya. He was speaking at a pressmeet held at the Dharma Sansad Media center on November 24.

Today Saints and Seers debated during the afternoon session regarding the Ram Mandir issue and all urged building the Ram Mandir on the same site in Ayodhya. Pejawar Swamiji and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also made their stand clear on the issue. We will construct the Ram Mandir. It is not a populist declaration but a matter of our faith and it will not change.

After years of efforts and sacrifice, building the Ram Mandir seemed possible now, while also noting that the matter was in the court. Only the Ram Mandir will be constructed and nothing else. It will be constructed at the same site

When questioned about Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar being involved as a mediator in the Ram Mandir- Babri Masjid dispute Champatrai said that VHP has not appointed him as a médiatisé, it’s his own decision and we are not opposing it too. Anyone can be the mediator but our stand is clear on building the Ram Mandir at the disputed site in Ayodhya. There will be no Mosque or any peace center in that place. Many people were claiming that VHP has appointed a mediator in the Ram Mandir- Babri Masjid dispute. Ravishankar did not discuss the matter with us. If he is mediating, he is doing so at his personal level. VHP has nothing to do with it. If Ravishankar succeeded in arriving at a solution, he would have to submit it in the Supreme Court, where the matter is being heard.

The Supreme Court and the government will take their decision. It is a dispute between two different communities we also hope that this issue will be settled peacefully.

Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math today fixed the date for starting the work of the Ram Mandir. As per his wish all the saints and seers have accepted his statement during the Dharma Sansad debate, he added.

Surendra Jain Joint general secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad was also present in the press meet.
