Victoria School and Sharada Vidyalaya Emerge Winners of ‘Chanakya – 2016’
Mangaluru: The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony of “Chanakya – 2016”, organized by Karnataka Journalists Union and Information department, was held at the Town hall here on August 6.
District KJU President Sudhesh Kumar welcomed the gathering. Quiz masters Udaya Kumar and Razak were felicitated by MLA J R Lobo and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering MLA Moideen Bava said that the Karnataka journalists Union has organized a quiz competition, let the journalists create more and more Chanakyas in the district in the coming days. Organizing a quiz competition for the students to improve their knowledge is an apt programme for Journalism day.
Mayor Harinath congratulated the Journalists Union for thinking about the students to improve their reading skills.
MLA J R Lobo addressing the gathering said that the KJU has organized the quiz competition for students. To organize a quiz competition we need to have knowledge. If we read the news and gain knowledge it will help us to answer competitive examinations. We get information and knowledge from the newspapers. He urged the students to inculcate the habit of reading newspapers. He congratulated the winners and also said that participation is very important. Failure is the stepping stone for success, Whoever has lost now they will win in the future.
SP Bhushan speaking on the occasion said, “KJU has organized the quiz competition “Chanakya – 2016″, those who have won the quiz I congratulate them. I am very happy to see the quiz masters doing the quiz very interestingly. I thank KJU for inviting me to this event”.
State KJU President Shivapuji delivered the presidential address. Mohan K Sriyan, Vice president Shiva Sharan Shetty, Information officer Khader Shah and others were also present.
