Vijayadasami celebrated at Kollur Temple with traditional pomp and gaiety
Kundapur: The Vijayadasami, part of Maha Navratri festival, was celebrated with traditional pomp and gaiety at the Mookambika temple in Kollur here on Tuesday, October 11.
Rituals such as Sharada Puja and Sharada “Visarjane” were performed. The idol of the goddess Mookambika was carried in a procession to Shukla Tirtha and brought back.
The main highlight of the celebrations was the “Vidyarambham” ceremony that began in the morning at Saraswati Mandir. The ceremony marks the beginning of education of children. A maximum number of children participated in the ceremony.
A large number of devotees from various parts of Karnataka, and from all over the country participated in the celebrations.
