Village Accountant Caught While Receiving Bribe for Changing Khata
Mangaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested the Village Accountant of Ramakunj, Kadaba Taluk while accepting a bribe on October 10.
The arrested has been identified as Durgappa, Village Accountant of Ramakunj, Kadaba Taluk.
According to the ACB police, Durgappa demanded Rs 8,000 from Sharath P N from Haleneranki Village, Kadaba for changing the Khata. Sharath agreed to pay Rs 8000 to get his work done.
Durgappa had taken Rs 5000 in advance. On October 10, Sharath came to the Taluk office to pay the balance Rs 3000 to Durgappa. While receiving the bribe, Durgappa was arrested by the ACB police.
The police recovered the amount from Durgappa. A case has been registered against Durgappa and further investigation is on.
Under the able leadership of ACB DySP Sudheer Hegde, the operation was carried out by the police inspector ACB Shyamasundar, Police Inspector Yogish, Hariprasad, K Radhakrishna, Radhakrishna D A, Prashanth, Vaishali, Rakesh, Rajesh and Ganesh.
