Vinod Alva’s Driver Gets Bail in Murder Attempt Case
Puttur: Vinod Alva is a multilingual actor who has now settled down in Moodayoor of Paduvannur village in the taluk. An attempt on the life of his former employee Sachidananda was made on November 15, 2015.
Sachidananda, son of Rama Patali of Manibettu, worked with Alva earlier. He was riding his bike near Ishwaramangala and a jeep driven by Alva’s driver Udaya Chakkittaya had knocked him down.
Sachidananda had filed a complaint with the rural police at Sampya regarding the attempt on his life.
The police registered a case. A team led by DK’s then-SP Dr Sharanappa, accompanied by Puttur town inspector Mahesh Prasad and Sampya SI B S Ravi, raided Vinod Alva’s house and arrested him. Subsequently, Alva came out on bail.
The jeep involved in the hit case was found abandoned in another place and it was seized by the police. Chakkittaya had been absconding ever since.
But he, through his advocates, submitted a plaint for anticipatory bail in the 5th additional sessions court in Puttur. The court has now granted anticipatory bail to the accused.
