Vittal Police Arrest Man for Peddling Ganja in Salethur

Mangaluru: The Vittal police arrested a man in connection with ganja peddling, at Kattathila, Salethur here on June 25.

The arrested has been identified as Jalaluddin (30), a resident of Salethur.

According to the police, Jalaluddin was arrested while he was peddling ganja on his autorickshaw. In the morning on June 25, after receiving a reliable tip-off that an autorickshaw driver was peddling drugs from Uppal to Salethur, the Vittal police arrested Jalaluddin and recovered 850 grams of Ganja along with the autorickshaw, all worth Rs 157,000.

The arrested his a habitual Ganja peddler with a case registered against him in the Konaje police station. During interrogation, Jalaluddin revealed that he would buy drugs from Kerala and sell it to the youth in Salethur, Kudthamugeru, Madakatte and Bolanthuru.

The operation was carried out by the CPI Bantwal K U Belliyappa, PSI Prakash Devadiga, ASI Anand Poojary, Balakrishna, Chinnappa Gowda, Jayakumar, Praveen Rai, Rakshith Rai, Praveen Kumar, Ramesh and Raghuram.

Well, those who know these areas clearly know what he meant by ‘youth’ here!! smiles….These areas are similar to Kalladka, Kannuru and parangipete!!! Then again, I respect the the unwritten laws of modern day reporting!! LOL

On a different note, drugs should be legal. I don’t know why alcohol is openly sold while these ganja peddlers are arrested!! I wish there was an open debate and discussion in our society. Oh well…
