VP Venkaiah Naidu hails Asha Worker Rajivi’s Service taking Pregnant Woman to Hospital
Udupi: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on commending the service of Asha worker, who drives the autorickshaw and takes the pregnant woman to the hospital for delivery even at 3:20 am.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu in his twitter account tweeted, “Appreciate the noble Msk of ASHA health worker, Ms. Rajeevi for taking a pregnant woman to the Hospital in her autorickshaw at 3:20 am, in Udupi, Karnataka”.
Venkaiah Naidu further, tweeted, “Ms Rajeevi, who drives an auto-rickshaw in her spare time & offers free rides for pregnant women is a source of inspiration to all. May God bless her!”
According to Rajivi, she had received a call at 3.15 am informing her that Srilatha from Pernankila had developed labour pain. Immediately Rajivi got into action, and took the pregnant woman in her autorickshaw to the Koosamma Shambhu Shetty Haji Abdulla Government Mother & Child Hospital, in Udupi. Srilatha was shifted to the hospital, and on the same day delivered a baby girl.
Rajivi has been riding an autorickshaw for the last 20 years. After her husband’s death, she worked as an Asha worker in the morning and during the afternoon was riding the autorickshaw for her living.
Rajivi is also involved in creating awareness on COVID-19, social distancing, wearing the face mask and using sanitisers with posters on her autorickshaw.
