One of the residents said, “Land Links and Lancy Constructions had built Ashoka Paradise from 2009 but have not handed over the premises to the association of the occupants. Hence, it is the duty of the builder to carry out the maintenance activities. The builder, however, has decided to stop the maintenance of the Ashoka Paradise premises which amounts to, breach of trust, denial of bounden duties and cheating to the Ashoka Paradise residents”.

There was a meeting held in January 2016 during which Land Links had agreed to complete all the pending issues, but as of today, the work is not completed and land and water issues are still not settled. “Ashoka Paradise residents are facing acute shortage of water and land with respect to the agreements signed between us and Land Links,” said a resident.

“Just building walls and windows is not enough. Other basic facilities like water supply, parking should be available. We have been paying maintenance fee from past 5 years, but there are no meetings held and we are not shown any of the accounts statements. We are being treated as refugees,” he said.

“It has come to our notice that watch and ward, water supply and generator facilities will be stopped immediately. 220 resident flats which hold about 600 people will be in deep trouble. It has come to our notice that the builder is planning to flee the country anytime. We are filing a cheating and breach of trust case against the builders,” he said.

Quality of construction is not good it’s a low budget flat . Always water problems. There is no security at night also .That is the reason I have sold my flat.

Very bad construction, shabby work. Parking everywhere and conjusted parking. No proper entrance board, watchman room looks like dog cage. Interlock not proper even inner pavement elevation very very bad. No municipal water connection to all 6 blocks and water connection taken is not proper it passes through municipal trench. Very very bad work……

“Ashoka Paradise…” – report
Well, looking at lack of basic facilities and unhappy residents, the name ‘Shoka Paradise’ sounds more appropriate. Am I surprised? No – As the entire city itself seems to be following Somalian standards when it comes to basic infrastructure. By the way, where are the elected officials? Oh never mind – they are all hiding after posing for camera with huge smiles at ‘national level’ kabaddi event, now infamous for ‘high quality’ construction and planning!! LOL LOL
