We are Deeply Hurt by CM’s Statement Defending Muslims – Sharan Pumpwell

Mangaluru: “Recently the chief minister of Karnataka B S Yediyurappa had said that strict action would be taken against those speaking against Muslims which the Vishwa Hindu Parishath is deeply hurt. The assault on Asha workers, nurses and doctors has increased all over the country and our volunteers are deeply hurt by this. Our volunteers had just expressed their pain through social media but the CM said that action will be taken against those who speak against the Muslims”, said the Convenor of BD and VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell on April 9.

Speaking to mangalorean.com Sharan Pumpwell said, “After the statement by the CM to a TV channel, the police and the district administration has booked 6 of our volunteers. FIRs have been filed in various police stations against our volunteers. The country is facing the Coronavirus pandemic and our volunteers are distributing the ration and helping the needy people. They are putting their lives at risk and helping the poor. When the nurses and the Asha workers were assaulted, they were upset and expressed their feelings. The police and the district administration have booked six FIRs against our volunteers in various police stations.”

Sharan Pumpwell further said, “Because of CM Yediyurappa’s statement, the police department and the district administration are booking our volunteers which we strongly condemn. We are not against Muslims. I urge the district administration and the police department not to file any cases against our volunteers. The FIRs that have filed against our volunteers should be withdrawn”.
