Mumbai, May 4 (IANS) After crashing to a 14-run loss to Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, Delhi Daredevils skipper Jean-Paul Duminy said the team let itself down with poor fielding and bowling in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

“We let ourselves down, specially it was out fielding and bowling. We dropped a couple of catches. Our body language and intensity weren’t there today. And that’s something we need to address from the next game,” Duminy said at the post-match press conference.

“If we are to find a place in the knockout stages, we have to find consistency in our performance. We have couple of games left in the tournament. We have to be at our best in those,” he said.

Delhi batsman Yuvraj Singh, who was bought by the franchise for a hefty Rs.16 crore in 2015 auctions, is yet to strike form, scoring just 146 runs from nine games.

When asked if his place in the side will be thought about, the skipper said, “We have all options open to us. I still believe in him as a player.

“At the end of the day he is a match winner. I believe he will come well in the tournament. We as a squad and franchise back him to do that.”

The skipper praised Ajinkya Rahane for his match winning 91 not out and Royals bowlers for bowling tight.

“I think Rahane batted superbly, it was a great innings. He is a top class player. Their bowlers bowled consistently well. Some of the balls were difficult to play. They swung the ball very nicely,” Duminy concluded.

Delhi next play Mumbai Indian at the Wankhede Stadium here on Tuesday.
