Mumbai, April 18 (IANS) Having slumped to their fourth straight defeat in the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma expressed disappointment with the way his bowlers fared against Chennai Super Kings and said the hosts lost the match when the visitors raced to 90 in six overs.

Replaying to 183/7 posted by Mumbai Indians on Friday, Chennai reached a winning 189/4 in 16.4 overs.

Chenai openers Dwayne Smith (62; 30b, 8×4 and 4×6) and Brendon McCullum (46;20b, 6×5 and 2×6) made mincemeat of the rival bowlers as they raced to the 100 mark in only 6.5 overs.

“Pretty disappointed with the way we bowled and our attitude on the field wasn’t right. I thought 183 was a good score, but we didn’t execute our plans with the ball,” said a dejected Sharma at the presentation ceremony.

“There’s no way they could score 90 runs in the first six overs. I think that’s where we probably lost the game.. Pretty disappointed to lose the game.”

Rohit seemed clueless about the reason for his side’s poor showing in the initial stage of the tourney.

“We’ve been trying and possibly doing everything but it’s not coming off,” he said.

He admitted the team management was yet to zero in on the combination that would provide the right balance to the former champions.

“At the end of the day you need to get the combination right, that’ s what we were trying to do. I know it’s not working out. We know we’ve got to find the right balance,” he said.
