We Will Not Spare Anyone Involved in Padarayanapura Violence – Home Minister Bommai

Udupi: Home minister Basavaraj Bommai said that serious sections against the accused in the Padarayanapura case will be initiated under the National Disaster Management Act.


Speaking to media persons Bommai said, “In Padarayanapura Violence around 126 accused have been arrested and jailed in Ramnagar. The state government will not tolerate such heinous crimes. There would be additional charges filed against them. The charge sheet will be filed shortly. One of the main accused will be arrested shortly. We will not spare even a single person involved in the incident however powerful and mighty they are”.

He praised the service of the health care professionals and the measures taken to combat COVID-19 in the district by the administration. The government has decided to set up a testing laboratory in each district. As per the decision, 27 labs for testing COVID-19 will be opened in the state of which one lab will be set up in Udupi. The 50-bed centralized oxygen room is set up in the district government hospital. There is a shortage of 3500 PPE kits.

He said, currently the people from other districts will not be allowed to enter the district.

Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh, SP Vishnuvardhan, MLA’s Raghupathi Bhat, Haladi Srinivas Shetty, Sunil Kumar, Lalaji R Mendon, Sukumar Shetty, and others were present.
