Website Impact! We Highlighted It, MCC Fixed It
Mangaluru: Talk about the power of media, especially Electronic media where we highlight the civic issues and within few hours or few days the concerned authorities who can’t bear the criticism about heir negligence, quickly get into action and rectify the civic issues. In the past Mangalorean.com has highlighted various civic issues through our website, and there has been a tremendous effect with most of the problems being fixed in no time, from rectifying dilapidated roads, open drainage, non-friendly footpaths, dog menace etc etc.
Here is yet another story of website publicity which has brought positive results, and action has already been taken by the city administration, and other district officials. No doubt, that the media plays a key role in shaping the growth of the City. We had highlighted the dilapidated condition of the road stretch near Bendore-swell through a report “Not Smart! MCC ignoring Dilapidated Roads with Potholes”, which was published on 24 September, 2016 in Mangalorean.com. Quite a few of our readers had forwarded this report to the officials concerned in the MCC, either through Whatsapp, Twitter, email and SMS. Few had even called over the phone and mentioned about the report.
And the result was very much fruitful- the MCC took action and the repair work of this road has been taken up as of 30 September. I appreciate the quick response by MCC. Not just from our side, today I felt, that even nonprofit organizations and citizens, in alliance with Government should really come up to make things possible and intended to work for the welfare of society. I am very pleased to inform your team that the potholes have been repaired. At least now a common man can get some hope that his grievances are being heard and even taken care of by the MCC. Thanks to MCC for taking up this job although factually speaking they should have taken it up earlier- Better late than never! Thanks.

Wow, finally MCC fixed the road at Kankanady. If this is the effect of the article from Alfie then its really nice. Only Mangalorean is actually showing the issues we Mangaloreans experience in our daily life. Hope to see more roads fixed soon. Thank you Mangalorean website team
congratulation Team Alfie of Mangalorean.com
I have marked this day because I am sure its not going to be too many months far off to ask you good people to come again with your camera’s to highlight the condition of the road.
The way the potholes have been filled says it all
Congratulations!! True – this is the power of honest reporting and media. Now, I request you to start calling out some of the elected politicians who are busy warming their chair and doing nothing to address the serious infrastructure problems. I’m sure they will change their behavior when they start seeing their names in these reports, not just ‘udghaatana samaarambha’ events!!
Oye Tooth shaker… have you read about the chaps behind the Agrigold scam? Care to name them?
Or, are you still stick with the morons apprehended at MIA? 😉
Thank You alfy and mangalorean.com for highlighting the civic issues of the City-I am very grateful to you, for you all being very committed to the safety and well-living of the citizens of Mangaluru. With great reporting by alfy Sir, I think Mangalore city officials will wake up from their dreams and do something good for the society. Thanks once again
Finally I am relieved of all the pain and backache riding my two-wheeler on this bad road. Thanks mangalorean.com for reporting on this pathetic condition of this Bendore-well road, and bringing positive results. Good job, and keep it up!
