Well-known Rotarian B Divakar Amin Passes away
Mangaluru: Divakar Amin Bolar (73 years), a long-time resident of Muscat and former Marketing Manager at Al Haytham Trading Co. Al Khuwair, Muscat, passed away in Mangaluru on Aug 26 morning.
He had spent about 35 years in Muscat. A six-foot-plus figure, he was a good cricketer, sports organizer, and social worker.
After repatriation, he had settled with family in Subhas Nagar, Pandeshwar in the city.
He joined the Rotary Club soon thereafter, rising to the club’s President’s post. He initiated many socially beneficial projects, leading to his elevation to the Deputy Governor level.
He is specially remembered for his efforts in distributing food and provision kits during Covid19 lockdown to migrant workers and the destitute stranded in bus and railway stations and hospital premises.
Ironically, a man who did so much for the COVID-affected, himself succumbed to the infection.
He is survived by wife Geeta and two daughters.
May his soul rest in peace.
