WERC Holds 200km BRM along the Arabian Coast
Mangaluru: The Sunday weekend ride that was extended to a 200Km BRM turned out to be another exhilarating 200km BRM, for all those bravehearts who braced hot and humid conditions to ace the ride.
Flagged off at 6:15 am from PABBAS the landmark of Ice creams, 8 riders took on the wheels for a ride on everyone’s favourite route, on the freshly laid NH66, all along the beautiful Arabian coast passing through Mulky-Udupi-Kundapura- Maravanthe and back.
The first half until 11 am was cool & comfortable. Surprisingly, almost everyone had crossed the U-turn point at Cafe Coffee Day, near Trasi. The ride after that was a bit challenging as the changing weather pattern from cool calm morning weather turned out to be hot, humid and windy. However, these conditions are part of any endurance ride and our riders overcame this challenge like any other challenges. The experienced riders, Joseph, Dhanraj, Harivijay, Kaushik, Ajay returned home between 2~3pm covering 200km in approx. 7 to 8hrs and others Rajesh Nayak, Gautham, enjoying the ride, taking breaks at their will, reached back well before the cutoff time of 13.30hrs.
Joseph Pereira, riding a big event after returning from injury finished the ride in style by reaching back amongst the first few. Team WERC congratulates Harivijay Kudva on completing his 3rd Super Randonneure series. Interestingly, Hari completed the 200km, 300km, 400km & 600km rides on the WERC Calendar for the year 2019-20.
Team WE R Cycling congratulates all the riders who rode BRM, and also those who joined in-between from Mangalore, Udupi, Manipal in making this ride more fun-filled. Our sincere gratitude to Ideal IceCream, IMA, Udupi Cycling club, Taj Cycles and all our volunteers in making this event complete.
