London, Aug 11 (IANS) English football club West Ham is preparing a 12 million pounds ($18.7 million) offer to sign Mexican Javier Hernandez from fellow side Manchester United, the British press reported on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old international player, who spent last season on loan with Spanish giants Real Madrid, is not wanted by United coach Louis van Gaal in his side, reports EFE.
He may leave the English club before the end of the summer transfer window on September 1.
A media report said United would not let the Mexican forward leave before buying striker Pedro Rodriguez from Spanish club FC Barcelona.
Hernandez may join West Ham to replace Ecuador’s Enner Valencia, who was injured two weeks ago in the Europa League match and will be sidelined for about three months.
