Whoever takes the Law into their Hands will not be Spared – Dr Parameshwar

Mangaluru: “In any case, the accused will not be protected. Whoever takes the law into their hands will be punished. I have already informed the police department to take strict action against those who violate the law and order”, said Home minister Dr G Parameshwar in a press meet held at the district Congress Office, Mallikatta here on April 2.

Addressing the mediapersons Dr Parameshwar said, “If you compare to the previous years, the law and order situation is under control. In the Jalil Karopadi murder case whether there is a connection to the underworld or not, the facts will come out once the investigation is over. Action has been taken against those who had gheraoed the Police commissioner office. Whoever violates the law, strict action will be taken against them”.

When asked about former Mayor Ashraf, HM Parameshwar said, “The Congress party has its own By-laws. The district president will look into the matter and take necessary action”.

Responding to the reporters Dr Parameshwar said, “My visit to Jalil Karopady’s house or Karthik Raj’s house is not politically motivated but both the cases have created communal tension in the district, so I visited their houses on humanitarian grounds”.

“In some murder cases, it is very difficult to nab the accused. We have appointed 40 Inspectors and DySPs to trace the culprits in the Kalaburgi murder case but so far the police have been unable to trace those responsible. Likewise to trace the murderers of Karthik Raj was also delayed.”, clarified Dr Parameshwar.

Dr Parameshwar also said, “I am monitoring the developments of the Sub Jail. We will be transferring the Superintendent of Jail and appointing a new Jail Superintendent. Constructing a new Jail in Mudipu is under discussion. We will take a decision after meeting the Jail officers”.

District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai, MLA Shakuntala Shetty, Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza, Mithun Rai, Ibrahim Kodijal, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Divya Prabha Gowda, Suresh Ballal and others were also present.
