Sydney, March 25 (IANS) India’s batting spearhead Virat Kohli on Wednesday said that the defending champions will go all out to beat the World Cup co-hosts Australia in Thursday’s semi-final.

“We are going to go all out and there is no doubt about that. We are not going to leave anything in the tank in these games,” Kohli was quoted as saying by bcci.tv.

“It is certainly going to be an occasion that I would always remember all my life. It has been just a wonderful journey so far and only the icing on the cake is left,” he said.

The Indian vice-captain insisted Australia, the four-time world champions, would be under greater pressure when they walk out to the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Thursday.

“Australia in Australia at the SCG with a full house in a semi-final clash – they are under massive pressure to win this World Cup,” Kohli said.

“We have nothing to lose if you see the situation and the opposition. People are expecting them to win and they know that as well.”

The 26-year-old was also of the view that the clash between two powerhouses would be exciting.

“We are playing some really good counter-attacking cricket and that is exactly the way Australia is playing as well. It is going to be like punches thrown in a boxing match where you don’t know who is going to get knocked out,” the right-handed batsman said.

“The one that holds composure on that day will come out victorious. I am confident of our side, the way we have played this tournament.”

The Delhi batsman also credited the consistent performance of the Indian bowlers in the mega event.

“It has been pleasing to watch the bowlers take 70 wickets. It is one area that we always wanted to improve on. The way it has come out in the World Cup, it has been magnificent,” he said.

“Everyone has contributed towards the team’s success and that is why we are in the position that we are in. It is going to be emotional, aggressive, and passionate and a lot of flamboyant cricket will be seen,” Kohli concluded.
