Will not Submit Documents to NRC to Prove my Citizenship – Ex-minister Pramod Madhwaraj
Udupi: If the Supreme Court is functioning well then it will throw the amendment of NRC into the Arabian sea. The Apex Court should reject the Act and no one should accept the amended citizenship act said former minister Pramod Madhwaraj.
He was speaking to media persons after participating in a protest organised by the District Muslim League in association with Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) and Komu Sauharda Vedike in Manipal demanding immediate withdrawal of the amended Citizenship Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The BJP led Union government is trying to set the country on fire by implementing anti-people laws like the NRC and CAA Act. The only hope is the Supreme Court, which will be hearing the case on December 18.
I will not submit my documents to prove my citizenship again. If they want to arrest me then I am ready to go Jail because I was born an Indian and there is no need for me to prove my citizenship again. It is shameful to seek proof of citizenship from citizens of the country. He urged Hindus to see that no harm is caused to their Muslim brothers, he said.
Everybody in Udupi knows you man. What about unknown people who might have crossed borders?
