London, Sep 2 (IANS) Winger Aaron Lennon has rejoined English Premier League (EPL) club Everton FC from league rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old England international footballer spent the second half of last season on loan with Liverpool and he has returned to Everton, this time on a permanent deal.
“We are delighted to welcome Aaron back to Everton. We know we are getting a player our fans know inside out. He had a major role in the second half of our season and we’re looking forward to Aaron kicking on and continuing to enjoy his football, as well as being the productive player we know he can be,” Everton manager Roberto Martinez said in a statement on Tuesday.
“He is well respected in the dressing room, his experience in the Premier League is immense and he will immediately add to our squad and to the ambition we have as a club.”
He has made over 350 appearances for Tottenham and helped the north London club win the League Cup in 2007/08.
Lennon, who started his career with Leeds United, has participated in 21 matches for England and played in both the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups.
