Mangaluru: Lufthansa Airlines Group as part of World Tourism day 2020 had organized a contest to boom/boost tourism during the time when the world is under the spell of Covid-19 pandemic, in which thousands of Travel and Tours Agents around the globe had entered this contest, and it is good news for Mangaluru, that Globe Travels, Mangaluru, the pioneers in Travel and Tourism since 1985, is ONE among the FIVE TOP winners in this Contest. We had come up with our caption for the photo as”Where Flowers Bloom, So Also Our Hope”, where we meant, amidst of Pandemic we hope tourism will survive and hence Globe was the first travel agency (subject to confirmation but I am told it’s true) to open our office way back in May 2020 once the lockdown was lifted in entire India”.
“We are the one who introduced Mangalore Port to the world of cruise and because of our efforts way back in 1980’s today Mangaluru was getting around 45 thousand plus foreign tourists. We with the help of District Administration and friends like Eugene Rent and Subbayya Shetty created a Golf Course at Mangaluru which would not be even to this date, and foreigners who arrive on our cruises do enjoy playing Golf in our City. As you know I am the one who founded the Red Cross Society of Mangaluru and also organised the Holy Land and Holy See Pilgrimage tours FIRST in India, way back in the 1980s. Though the travel and tourism industry did not get any government support due to Pandemic, we believe that our hope still blooms!
