With passing out parade 95 Police Constables complete training

Udupi: The ceremonial passing out parade of over 95 police constables was held at the Police parade ground here on October 24.

Apart from the indoor training sessions, the trainees also carried out demonstrations and visited police stations to study how to handle FIRs and lodge cases.

M Hemant Nimbalkar IGP western range received the guard of honour at the passing out and attestation parade of the newly recruited constables of the 11th batch of police.

The parade, including the slow and quick march by the probationers at the Police parade ground, attracted loud applause from the family members.

Superintendent of Police Udupi district Dr Sanjeev Patil welcomed the gathering and said that 95 policemen, including  44 from Belgaum, 41 from Hubballi – Dharwad, 6 from Bengaluru, 6 from Thumakur completed nine months of training in both indoor and outdoor sessions on fleet management, VVIP security, disaster management, etc.

In his message Hemant Nimbalkar IGP western range, stressing the need for change among the police personnel, called the police to maintain cordial relations with people for the maintenance of law and order.

The Training was being given to the police personnel from the rank of constable to higher officials on maintaining cordial relations with the society for people-friendly policing.

He opined that the registration of cases alone would not solve the purpose and added that counselling would also solve the majority of problems in the society.

Police should ensure a friendly atmosphere in their police stations to enable petitioners to air their grievances without fear. The motto of the police personnel is to serve the people, he said. Human rights should be respected, he pointed out and urged the constables to bear this in mind while discharging their duties.

Santhosh Kumar Poojar Hubli-Dharwad was awarded the best all-around probationer by M Hemant Nimbalkar.


Kumarchandra Additional Superintendent of Police administered the oath to the new constables and read out the report. Kumaraswamy DySP Udupi read out the report, Rishikesh Sonavane IPS, DySP and ASP Karkala announced the prize list, Praveen Nayak DySP Kundapur delivered the vote of thanks.
