Without banning PFI and KFD No Peace in Karnataka – B S Yeddyurappa
Udupi: “Without banning the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) organisations, there will be no peace in Karnataka”, said B S Yeddyurappa, former chief minister of Karnataka and also the state president of Bharatiya Janata Party.
He was speaking at a protest organised by the Udupi district BJP demanding the immediate arrest of Sharath Madivala’s murderers, at the Jatka Stand, here on July 13.
Addressing the gathering Yeddyurappa said, “The Siddaramaiah led State government has failed to maintain the law and order situation in the state. After the Congress government came to power, 24 Hindu activists were murdered and all these murders were pre-planned. The Congress in-charge of Karnataka, K C Venugopal is encouraging Kerala-like communal murders in Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah has been humiliating senior police officers by continuing Kempaiah as in-charge of DK district for maintaining the law and order situation.
Siddaramaiah had humiliated the police officers during the review meeting held in Bengaluru last Monday. Until Kempaiah is in the chief minister’s office, there will be no peace in the State. The Police will not be able to work efficiently. It is apparent that Siddaramaiah does not have trust in the DK police and has asked Kempaiah to monitor the situation”.
Yeddyurappa further said, “The BJP along with the union minister and BJP MP’s will meet the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on July 16 and stress for a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in all the 24 murders in the State after the Siddaramaiah-led government came to power”.
Udupi–Chikkmagaluru Lok Sabha member Shobha Karandlaje addressing the gathering said, “When BJP or Hindu organisations seek permission to hold a protest, the administration denied the permission but when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah holds public meetings in DK district the administration relaxed section 144. When RSS worker Sharath was in the hospital fighting for life, the Chief Minister did not visit him. After Siddaramaiah became the Chief Minister, many of the cases against KFD and PFI were withdrawn. The same people who came out of jail are involved in the attack on Hindu activists. Most of the BJP or RSS leaders have been killed in similar attacks in Karnataka and Kerala. The killers have adopted a similar style in all the killings. This should be probed and the Government should ban these outfits responsible for the attacks on right-wing activists”.
Shobha further said, “In the last four years many such attacks on right-wing activists took place in broad daylight and the Congress government did not initiate any action to arrest those behind the attacks. As many as 23 activists belonging to the BJP, RSS and other Hindu outfits have been killed in the recent years. The perpetrators of the crime are identified but the state government has failed to trace the accused. In such a situation all the murder cases should be handed over to the NIA. We have already asked the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to take the initiative to open an office of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Mangaluru. The move will help in monitoring the movement of suspected jihadi elements in the coastal belt, including Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada districts”, she added.
Karkala MLA and also Chief Whip of the Opposition for legislative assembly Sunil Kumar said that Hindus are not safe in Karnataka. If the police and government are not ready to provide security to our Hindu youth, the department should allow Hindu youth to keep weapons with them from next Ayudha Puja. We will take care of our security in our own way, he added.
Former Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, BJP district president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde and ZP vice-president Sheela K Shetty also spoke on the occasion. Former MLA Lalaji R Mendon, BJP leaders Dinakar Babu, Shyamala Kunder, Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, Uday Kumar Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna, Yashpal Suvarna and others were present.
