Woman Police Constable Dies in Road Mishap at Bhatkal
Bhatkal: A Woman police constable, who was riding a Two-wheeler, was reportedly killed on the spot after being hit by a speeding truck at Murdeshwar on the NH-66 on November 17.
The deceased has been identified as Mradula Acharya (37), who was serving as a police constable in the Murdeshwar police station.
According to Sources, Mradula Acharya, who was crossing the highway after coming from the Murdeshwar gate was hit by a speeding truck. The impact of the collision was such that she received severe injuries to the head even though she was wearing a helmet.
It is learnt that she hailed from Kundapur. Initially, she was serving as a constable in the Bhatkal police station. Six months ago, she was transferred to the Murdeshwar police station.
Mradula Acharya is survived by husband and two children.
The body was shifted to the Bhatkal govt hospital after necessary investigations. A case has been registered in the Murdeshwar police station.
