More women needed in technology industry: Karlie Kloss

Los Angeles, Dec 2 (IANS) Model Karlie Kloss believes more women are needed in the technology industry, and she set up her organisation Kode With Klossy because she wants people to understand the sector.

Kloss, 25, set up her non-profit organisation in 2015, which sees her run coding camps for people aged 15 to 18, because she wanted to “understand” the business, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“I wanted to understand what they knew that I didn’t and what most of the world doesn’t. If you can understand how things work and how they are built, you can build anything yourself,” Kloss told Business of Fashion magazine.

“Our brains are just wired differently, we solve problems differently. And ultimately, that’s what code is: it’s creative problem-solving. Having more women and girls in the conversation, at the table when you are building algorithms, when you are problem-solving — we are going to come up with a different way to get to the answer,” she added
