Women should Work in Society and not Restrict Themselves to Family – Pejawar Swamiji
Udupi: “The world cannot grow at a good pace unless women come forward and take the initiative for development works”, said Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math.
He was speaking after inaugurating the International women’s day organised by Udupi Taluk Mahila Mandaligala Okkuta at Rajangana here on Thursday, March 9.
Addressing the gathering Swamiji said, “As a mother, her role in the development of the emotional and psychological aspect of the newborn child has also been very significant. She not only gives birth and looks after her child but also educates and disciplines the child. Women should not restrict their service only to her family but should work in the society too”, he added.
Chief Guest of the programme Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy commissioner of Udupi district in her message said that behind every successful man there is a woman same as behind every successful woman there is the support of the man. Giving her own example she sais, “Today, if I have achieved anything in my life it is only with the support of my father. The modern society has started recognizing women. Women can help the society in various ways. They can engage in social activities and work for the betterment of the society”, she added.
Various women achievers including the newly appointed deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, Shilpa Naag, Assistant commissioner Kundapur, Kulsum Abubakar principal Salihath Arabic Women’s College, Sarala Kanchan Abbakka Awardee were felicitated on the occasion.
