Won’t direct Telugu remake of ‘Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru’: Karthick
Chennai, Jan 18 (IANS) Karthick Naren, whose Tamil directorial debut “Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru” has impressed audiences and critics alike, says he won’t be directing the Telugu remake of the film.
“Talks have been initiated with a star for Telugu remake. Unfortunately, I won’t be directing the remake because as a creator it is not healthy to work on the same script and screenplay as the magic may gets lost,” Karthick, 22, told IANS.
A whodunit thriller revolving around 16 characters, “Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru” was raved for its engaging screenplay and stunning making style.
Another reason why Karthick won’t direct the remake is because he has “already started working on my project. I’m busy with the casting process and we plan to go on the floors from July”.
Karthick also confirmed that talks are going on for the Hindi remake.
“Two leading production houses have shown interest, but I really can’t comment on it yet,” he said.
Made on a shoestring budget, the film is currently running in its fifth week in cinemas and has already been adjudged a hit.
