Workshop on deliberate on the compilation, organization and analyses of data PMBJP
Manipal: Department of Commerce, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal organized a workshop to deliberate on the compilation, organization and analyses of data “Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana.
An Evaluation of Physicians, Patients, Jan Aushadhi Owners Experiences and Supply Chain Management in Select Districts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu”, a research project carried out under the aegis of Indian Council of Social Sciences Research, New Delhi on 27/02/2024 at Thekkatte, Udupi, Karnataka.
It was organized with the support of Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana Kendra, Thekkatte, Giants Group of Brahmavar and Gram Panchayat, Thekkatte. Ms Shoba, President, Gram Panchayat, Thekkatte inaugurated the workshop and Dr Sandeep Shenoy, Director, Compliance and Head of the Department of Commerce, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, presided over the function.
Mr Sundar Poojary, President, of Giants Groups of Companies, the research team of the project, Dr Akhila, Community Medicine, KMC, Manipal, Mr Sunil, PDO, and Mr Srinath Kota were present. Dr Savitha Basri, the Principal Investigator of the research project explained the importance of the Janaushadhi scheme and shared the findings of the study.
Around 140 self-help group members, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, Panchayat members, doctors and paramedical personnel, a few Kendra owners, and others who are beneficiaries of the scheme participated in the programme. Feedback from the society about the viability of carrying out specific research and the programme was obtained.
