World Breast Feeding Week Observed at Nirmala Hospital Ullal
Mangaluru: The faculty and postgraduate students of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing department, observed the world Breastfeeding week 2018 on the theme “Breast Feeding Foundation Of Life” at Nirmala Hospital Ullal on 2nd August.
The programme commenced with a prayer song followed by lighting the lamp as a symbol of knowledge. Updates on the importance of breastfeeding to mother and child, techniques of breastfeeding and storage of breast milk especially to the working mothers were given. The talk was delivered through discussion, demonstration video clips, pictures by Merlin.
A short video clip Amirtha Bindu was played after the talk. A quiz was conducted during the session to gain participation from the audience. More than a hundred audience including antenatal, postnatal mothers and adolescent girls were present. Dr Sr Lenita the Obstetrician and Gynecologist of the hospital, Sr Emma the administrator of the hospital, Pramila D’Souza the HoD of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, Shoba the assistant professor of the department and the staff of Nirmala hospital were present.
