World Diabetes Day observed by City College of Nursing
Mangaluru: On account of world diabetes Day 2017, National Service Scheme and Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing of City College of Nursing, had conducted Inter College quiz competition to mark World Diabetes Day, in which 11 nursing colleges have participated actively-the first place was bagged by Father Mullers College of Nursing, and City College of Nursing got the second place.
The quiz was conducted by Ashwin Borromeo NSS advisor of City College of Nursing, and principal professor Mrs Janet Miranda inaugurated the program and gave a special note on the theme women and diabetes.
A special diabetes camp was also conducted at City Hospital Kadri where the public had actively participated identifying the risk for diabetes with Indian diabetes risk score and also checked their blood sugar, which was free of cost. Nearly 100 patients participated, who were also educated about the identification of diabetes mellitus, management of diabetes mellitus and prevention of acute and chronic complications of diabetes mellitus.
