Yaduveer and Pramoda Devi Wadiyar visit Udupi Sri Krishna Temple
Udupi: Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, and his foster mother Pramoda Devi Wadiyar visited Udupi Sri Krishna Math on Tuesday, May 30.
Both visited the temple and made a darshan of Lord Sri Krishna and also met Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math. The Swamiji honoured Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and Pramoda Devi Wadiyar during the visit.
Later both took part in the inaugural ceremony of the Renovated Sri Adamar Math Guest House. In 1964 Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar’s Grandfather Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar had inaugurated the same guest house.
On behalf of the Royal Family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and Pramoda Devi Wadiyar offered a royal honour to the Pejawar and Adamar Math Swamijis.
Speaking on the occasion Pramod Devi said that we have visited the Sri Krishna Temple following an invitation from the Adamar and Pejawar Math Swamiji. In 1964 my father-in-law inaugurated the guest house. Now again the Adamar Math Swamiji expressed their wish that the same renovated guest house to be to inaugurated by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar who happily agreed to come to Udupi and today the guest house was inaugurated by him. We have a close relation with the Mysore Royal family and the same will continue in future too, she added.
Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar speaking on the occasion said, “It is a nice moment for me. Yesterday I completed two years of taking charge of the royal family. In the last two years, people of Karnataka have welcomed me wherever I have gone. Today the Sri Krishna Math Swamijis also welcomed us wholeheartedly and offered their blessings”. He also expressed his desire to visit the temple more often in future.
Prior the inauguration the Royal Dignitaries arrived in a procession to the Adamar Math Guest House from the Sri Krishna Math along with Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of the Paryaya Pejawar Math.
Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math, Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji of Adamar Math Udupi and also the president of Sri Vibudhesha Theertha Memorial Charitable Trust and Sri Eeshapriya Theertha Swamiji, Junior Swamiji of Adamar Math graced the occasion.
