Yakshagana Artiste Siddakatte Vishwanath Shetty (59) No More
Bantwal: Following brief illness, veteran and versatile Yakshagana artiste Siddakatte Vishwanath Shetty passed away at home in Barjalagadde of Ajjibettu village on Friday morning.
He was well-versed in both Tenkutittu and Badagutittu formats of Yakshagana. He had his initial trainding from Kavoor Keshava and later served in a host of troupes like Kateel, Kadri, Mangaladevi and Saligrama.
He had played both male and female roles with ease. He had also written a few scripts for the field shows.
His mortal remains were placed in Barjalagadde for public homage and the final rites were held later. His death has been condoled by several public figures and citizens.
He is survived by wife Jayanti and three children.
