Yeddyurappa cannot take Voters for Granted – CM Siddaramaiah

Udupi: “B S Yeddyurappa cannot take the voters for granted, how does he say that they will win 150 seats?”, questioned Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Karnataka. He was speaking to media persons during his visit to Barkur Mahasansthanam here on April 21.

“People have not yet given their votes to win 150 seats in the 2018 elections to BSY, people will decide in the forthcoming elections”.

When asked on the indifferences between BSY and K S Eshwarappa, Siddaramaiah said that many leaders in the BJP have expressed their discontent on BSY. The discontent in the BJP will soon burst; for them Indiscipline is discipline, he added.

When asked about his growing friendship with former PM Devegowda, Siddaramaiah said that in politics friendship and rivalry is not permanent.

“I’m not against God, I pray to God”,  said Siddaramaiah when he was asked about his participation in the religious programme.

When asked about his ties with JD(S) for the upcoming polls, Siddaramaiah said that we will go on our own, we will not ally with any political parties. They had not fielded their candidate in the Nanjangud and Gundlupet by-elections which helped us to win, but there are also other reasons which led us to victory in Nanjangud and Gundlupet elections. UP and Karnataka is not the same, the situation is not same in both the places.

On the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar urging for a grand alliance at the national level, Siddaramaiah said that it is a good move, all secular parties should come together to take on the communal forces. As secular parties are divided, voters are also divided which leads to the winning of communal forces.

The high command will decide on the KPCC President’s post. There are names floating for the KPCC president’s post, the high command will take an effective decision.

When asked on the Veerashaiva communities help in winning the by-elections. Siddaramaiah said that people of all communities have voted for the Congress. The vacant MLC seats will be soon filled for which discussion is on with the high command.

On the assault on the deputy commissioner of Udupi, Siddaramaiah said that effective legal action will be initiated.

On red beacons on VIP vehicles, Siddaramaiah said that he will take a cognizance of the same. He also said that a law is formulated on the Kambala.

Minister in-charge District, Pramod Madhwaraj; Former Minister and Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake and others were present.
