Yediyurappa Through Operation Lotus Traded 17 Congress MLAs has been Proved, He Should Resign
Mangaluru: “First of all, I urge the people of Mangaluru to maintain peace and harmony during the historic verdict on Ayodhya and respect the judgement of the Supreme court. The second issue is that, through operation, Kamala Yediyurappa tried to bribe 17 opposition MLAs. The audiotape in which Yediyurappa bribed the MLAs has been proved and we hope the Supreme Court will take this issue seriously and take action accordingly. From the past one-and-half years the Coalition government was ruling in the state and the BJP tried to destabilize it through the poaching of MLAs. If Yediyurappa and the BJP national president Amit Shah have any respect for Democracy they should resign”, said senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at the Press Club here on November 8.
Addressing the mediapersons Poojary said, “The audiotape in which CM Yediyurappa through operation Kamala bribed 17 MLAs to gain the trust vote has been proved. The audiotape of bribing the Coalition party MLAs by the BJP has been exposed. This is a danger to democracy. Such cheap tactics should not be repeated and I hope the Supreme court will put an end to such practices”.
Janardhan Poojary further said, “In Maharastra also the BJP has started the resort politics. Now the Shiv Sena MLAs are staying in the resort. BJP leaders are trying to bribe the Shiv Sena MLAs to form the government in Maharastra. Such practices are a danger to democracy and I condemn it.
Congress leaders Vijay Kumar Sorake, Taranath Kallige and former Mayor Ajith Kumar Rai were also present.
