Young and Energetic IAS Officer Akshy Sridhar-the New Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Meets Officials on His First Day in Office, on Thursday, 27 August 2020 at 11 am
Mangaluru: Ending the impasse over the appointment of a new Commissioner of Mangaluru city Corporation (MCC) following the transfer of incumbent senior IAS officer Ajith Kumar Hegde three weeks ago, the Karnataka government had appointed of 2017 -batch IAS officer, Akshy Sridhar as the new Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation. The commissioner’s post at MCC was vacant since the transfer of Ajith Kumar Hegde, but in the meantime, Dinesh Kumar was Commissioner In-Charge for a few days. The appointment of Akshy was in line with his earlier posting as Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Food Processing Industries for four months from July – October 2019.
“Since today is my First day after assuming the prestigious post of Commissioner of ‘Smart City’ Mangaluru, for the few days I want to go around and learn more about the City. My first priority will be to expedite the Smart City development projects at the earliest. And also work closely with the engineers and other officials of MCC and Mangaluru Smart City Ltd, and make sure the projects are carried on systematically. I will be looking forward to the support from citizens of Mangaluru in carrying out my duties smoothly and efficiently” added Commissioner Akshy Sridhar.
Commissioner Akshy Sridhar was received at the Mangaluru International Airport by Dinesh Kumar (who was in-charge MCC Commissioner), Dr Manjayya Shetty (MCC Health Officer) and other officials from MCC, after his arrival from Bengaluru this morning. From the Airport, Akshy Sridhar went to meet Deputy Commissioner of DK Dr Rajendra K N, after which he proceeded to his chamber in the MCC building.
